Coach Of Online Science Course


Purpose:
To help K-12 students achieve a high level of science knowledge, skills,  and appreciation for the values of commitment and excellence.

Overall Goals:
  • Ensure that students are demonstrating growth in the class learning targets.
  • Empower students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information.
  • Instill a love of learning in all students
  • Collaborate with colleagues and team to ensure the best possible instruction for all students
Responsibilities and Duties: 
  • Prepare the online class to impact student learning and maximize your time
  • Successfully and professionally offer teaching and provide academic instruction to students and help students to improve their grades
  • Assess students’ academic needs and craft individualized plans that support learning success.
  • Coach students in the skills necessary for achievement in the science events they are involved in
  • Plans and schedules regular practices leading to science competition
  • Maintains competency in rules and general information about all aspects of Science Olympiad
  • Organizes, coordinates, and chaperones competitions
  • Provides direction to volunteer youth helpers and science club leaders

Qualifications for the Position:
  • MUST have a strong background in Science subjects.
  • Great interpersonal skills including communication and critical thinking.
  • Experience in teaching and/or coaching science is preferred
  • Experience in Science Olympiad competition and activities is prefered
  • A teaching certificate of bachelor’s degree is preferred but not a must to have
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
